User Tools

Introduction

Blender is a free 3D creation tool that is useful for modeling, as well as for previewing and even creating vehicle liveries and other textures for 3D models.

The user interface

Blender's user interface changed significantly from version 2.79 to version 2.80; the basic concepts remain mostly the same, but some major visual and textual differences, as well as some organizational differences, are readily apparent.

The main user interfaces in both cases is divided into five main areas:

  • The menu bar, or info window
  • The 3D view
  • The Properties panel/window
  • The Outliner
  • The timeline
